Philippe Gallay, Ph.D.

The Scripps Research Institute

Dr. Gallay is Associate Professor of the Department of Immunology and Microbial Science at the Scripps Research Institute where he studies the molecular basis of HIV and HCV pathogenesis. Dr. Gallay’s expertise include the characterization of host proteins modulating viral replication, such as TRIM5 and cyclophilins. In the course of these studies he has identified novel biologics with the potential to prevent HIV sexual transmission. Dr. Gallay serves in Study Sections of the National Institutes of Health and review committees of several scientific organizations in the United States and Europe.
